Employees must be given time off to vote

The Electoral Act 1993 states if an employee ( who is elegible to vote) is unable to vote before they commence work on an election day, they must be permmitted to leave work no later than 3pm that day in order to vote. If their working day is not finished their wages must not be deducted, if they must work past 3pm then paid time must be allowed to permit the employee to vote.
