COUNCILS VOTE TO SHIFT SOUTH CANTERBURY ANNIVERSARY DAY TO THE 11TH NOVEMBER 2022
With the Queens Memorial public holiday having to have happened on the 26 September it meant that the Canterbury Anniversary Day (Province holiday) also set to be held on the 26 Sept could not happen (you cannot have two PH’s on the same day).
The government stated that they would leave it up to the local bodies in that region to decide it the day would be transferred to another day. This has been decided to now be the 11 November 2022 (Friday).
All the standard public holiday rules from the Holidays Act would apply to this day.
